Protect Your Devices
A few tips to protect your devices and work safely anywhere, anytime.
Install antivirus and update regularly
Install antivirus software on your desktop, laptop, tablet and phone. Only iPhones and iPad’s don’t need this. Make sure to install updates as soon as they are available.
Keep applications up to date – always
An important reason for updates are changing security measures that need to be applied. Always install updates when available.
Back-up your data regularly
Back-up your personal devices regularly. A back-up keeps your data available when a device gets infected by malware.
Lock your devices whenever out of sight
If you need to leave your computer, phone, or tablet for any length of time—no matter how short—lock it so no one can use it while you’re gone. If you keep sensitive information on a flash drive or external hard drive, make sure to lock it up as well.
Be careful with what you plug in
Be conscientious of what you plug in to your computer. Malware can be spread through infected flash drives, external hard drives, and even smartphones.
